Different Types of Lashes

1. Lash Lift & Tint

Lash lifting and lash tinting gives you the glamorous look you are wanting for your eyes with minimal expense and effort. It creates a natural yet glamorous look that mimics the look of wearing mascara and enhances the lash line, making it the perfect solution for folks wanting to amp up their lash game, while minimizing time and effort spent on the daily application and removal of eye makeup, and/or false lashes. This service will help you acheive the glamorous look you desire, with minimal expense and effort. A lash lift is essentially a perm for the lashes. It is a procedure that lifts and curls the lashes in minutes. It creates a very natural, yet glamorous look. The lash lift is often followed by a black lash tint to help amp up the glam and drama by darkening the color of the lashes.

2. Classic individual eyelash extensions

The most popular type of lash extensions are classic lash extensions. These are the most natural looking too. With these extensions, individual lashes are applied to your own natural eyelashes. Each of your natural lashes are 'extended' with the application of a synthetic lash (we use silk and cashmere). Classic lash extensions, like all of the different types of lash extensions, can be customised based on the curl, thickness, and length of the lashes. You can learn more about this below. Classics are the most popular due to their more natural look, which can be dialled up or down depending on the preference of the individual. These lashes create the effect of a natural mascara look, without having to apply makeup.

3. Hybrid lashes

Hybrid lashes combine the classic lash extension with the volume lash extension. Hybrid sets consist of a mix of classic, individual lashes, while some will have volume fans applied (see below). This is where the artistry of your lash tech really matters – because hybrid lashes should be customised to enhance your natural beauty. The result is a beautiful and unique lash style that gives you more dimension and texture than when the tech applies one style alone. The simplest way to think about what hybrid lashes are like is to consider the use of individual lashes to create the framework for the overall look. Then volume lashes would fill in any naturally occurring gaps, creating a feathery and textrued look. Hybrid lash offer more styling options and flexibility than choosing classic lashes or volume lashes. You can develop your own look and style much more easily by using a mix of the two.

4. Volume eyelash extensions

Volume lashes bring the glam and intensity, with a striking look that enhances the eyes. Volume lashes create a darker lash line which gives the effect of eyeliner, without the effort! Rather than applying one synthetic lash for every natural lash, multiple individual lashes are used on each natural lash. A volume fan of multiple lashes in one, consisisting of light and fine lashes is applied, resulting in a beautifully thick and plush set of lashes. With volume lashes you can expect a dense, intense, feathery look that makes your eyes stand out. Volume sets are ideal for those who do not have consistent and evenly shaped natural lashes. Our two favorite styles for volume sets is the cat eye and dolly eye (see below)

Popular Lash Styles

The styles below are the most popular lash styles, and are shapes that can be customized to suit your unique eye shape and personal lash personality. These styles can be created as classic, hybrid or volume sets, and are fully cusomizable with various lash lengths, widths, density and curl types to the create dimension, texture and volume that is right for you..

This diagram which illustrates the most popular lash styles. This is the exact chart we use while consulting with clients in studio.

Although some of the styles seem quite similar, you will see that it is often the length and the slightly different placement of the lashes along the lash line which differenciates between styles.

Have a look below for some photo examples of different styles, keeping in mind the styles can be customised with more or less volume, length, lash curls and textures while the initial shape of the lash remains the same.

Natural Lashes

Natural lash styles are created to follow the natural appearance of your lashes, yet with an enhanced look. The natural lash styles are less dense with a natural curve, and typically use a thinner individual lashes to create as natural a look as possible.

Squirrel Lashes

Squirrel lashes are a very sassy style, and are created to mimic the curve of a squirrels tail. They create a lovely lift to the eye and are flattering for most eye shapes. They can be created as volume, hybrid or classic lashes with wisps. They are a favorite of ours in the studio.

Cat Eye Lashes

The cat eye style is an ultra-glam, sexy style which brings attention to the eye by creating an elongated and lifted affect. It is the most requested style in our studio.

Dolly Eye Lashes

Dolly lashes are a very innocent and cute, yet dramatic lash style. The style mimics the thick round style of lashes you would see on your baby doll as a child. Dolly style works well with volume as it is an already dense look.

Foxy Eye Lashes

This look is similar to the cat eye style, and is very modern and stiking. What differenciates the fox from the cat is the type of lash curl used. Foxy lashes call for a very straight lash which no curve at all, while the cat is a more glamorous curved lash curl.

Wispy Lashes

Wispy lashes are a style feature that can be added to any of the styles. Wisps create dimension, texture and a fluffier, or sometimes spikey look to the overall design, making it look like a strip lash. Different lash lengths and curls can be used to create the wispy look. If you love glam, you will love this style.
